AIKEN, SC - Donald Lee Gibboney, age 75, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2018. Don was born January 23, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late James Lincoln Gibboney and the late Dorothy G. Gibboney. He was a graduate of Western Michigan University and retired after thirty years of service from Ford Motor Company as an Automotive Engineer. His passions were automobiles, golf, and music. Don was a good, decent man who people were proud to call a friend. He will be remembered as a beloved husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a brother, James Gibboney. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Vicki Gibboney; a son, James Glenn Gibboney (Paula), Livonia, MI; a daughter, Elizabeth Lynn Chancellor (Brett), Lawrenceville, GA; and five grandchildren, Evan, Matthew, Sarah, Emily, and Jimmy. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at George Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Friday, January 19, 2018 in the George Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Erin Morgan officiating.
