Funeral services for Mrs. Kathleen Parrish Fowler will be held on Sunday, February 6, 2005 at 1:30pm at St. John?s United Methodist Church with Rev. M. Eugene Mullikin officiating. Memorial donations may be directed to the American Heart Association. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday 5-7pm at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken.
Mrs. Fowler, 79, of Aiken, died Thursday February 3, 2005 at University Hospital in Augusta, GA. Born in Shelbyville, KY, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Cordie Clark Parrish. She had lived most of her life in Louisville, KY and had lived briefly in Indiana before moving to Aiken in 1954. She was a very active member of St. John?s United Methodist Church. She loved gardening and craftwork. She attended craft shows, having a booth named ?Grandma?s Pretty Things?. Kathleen was a voracious reader, with hundreds of books in her library. She enjoyed spending time at Clark?s Hill where she fished, boated and enjoyed the beauty of nature.
Mrs. Fowler is pre-deceased by her son, Kimberly Fowler, 1972 and her daughter, Dawn Francine Barrett, 2003. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, B.J ?Bev? Fowler, Aiken and her son-in-law, Les Barrett, Aiken. She is also survived by two grandsons; Wesley Ryan Barrett and Damion Christopher Barrett, one great-grandson, Caleb Preston Barrett, a niece and several nephews.
