Funeral services for Mr. Max Gerstenberger will be held Saturday, August 8, 2003 at 3:30 PM at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Aiken, SC, with Pastor Richard F. Poock and Pastor Beth Barkhau officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 8, 2003 from 11-12 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC.
Mr. Gerstenberger, 84, of Aiken, SC, husband of the late Ella Jauch Gerstenberger, died Thursday, morning, August 7, 2003 at Pepperhill Nursing Center, Aiken, SC.
Born in Romania, a son of the late Gotlieb and Olga Katherine Gerstenberger, he was a retired Dairy Farmer. Mr. Gerstenberger had been a resident of Aiken, SC, since 2000.
Sons, Dieter Gerstenberger, Ft. Worth, TX, Rolf Gerstenberger, Hamilton, Canada, Kurt Gerstenberger, Lexington, SC, Max Gerstenberger, Lake Worth, FL, and Paul Gerstenberger, Aiken, SC; daughters, Jutta Fitzsimons, Potsdam, NY and Mary Ann Robbins, Addison, TX; twenty-one grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, survive.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Drawer K., Aiken, SC 29802.
