Funeral services for George Philip ?Phil? Crotwell, will be held Tuesday, July 22, 2003 at 11 AM at Trinity United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC, with Reverend Dr. Rodney K. Powell officiating. Members of the Rabbit Chasers from Trinity are asked to serve as pallbearers at the church. Interment with full military honors accorded by the United States Air Force Honor Guard will follow in Southlawn Cemetery, Aiken, SC. The family will receive friends Monday, July 21, 2003 from 6-8 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC. Mr. Cotwell, 63, of Aiken, SC, much loved husband of Lila Turner Crotwell, died Sunday, morning, July 20, 2003 at his residence after a courageous battle with ALS. Born in Albany, GA, a son of the late George Philip Crotwell, Sr., and Jeanette Rauch Crotwell, he was a graduate of Clemson University. He retired from the United States Air Force after twenty-years of service where he obtained the rank of Lt. Col. While in the Air Force, he received his Master?s in Engineering from the Air Force Institute of Technology. After his retirement from the Air Force, he began a career as an Engineer with Bechtel, where he later retired. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Aiken, SC. In addition to his wife of seventeen years, Lila Turner Crotwell, daughters, Patricia Crotwell, Nashville, TN, Amelia Crotwell, and Elizabeth Lynch, both of Oak Ridge, TN; son, Matthew Turner, Edgemoor, SC; brother, Dr. Hank Crotwell, York, SC; grandchildren, Julia Bentley, Emily Parks, Maggie Lynch, Nicholas Turner, Christopher Turner, and Noah Turner, and several nephews, survive.
