BLUE RIDGE, GA -- Eleanor Boyd-Hedges (Perkins), 92, passed away on September 18, 2016.
Affectionately called "Winnie." Beloved Mother who enjoyed family, church, music, dance and people. Will be remembered for her inspired work with children. She was the great-granddaughter of Ezekiel Boyd who deeded the property for the construction of Chime Bell Baptist Church.
Preceded in death by parents, Barney and Christine Boyd; sister, Louise; brother, Bernard Jr.; and husbands, Herman Hedges and Bob Perkins.
Survived by sisters, Marie Breland (Gordon) and Marti McGeary (Jim); three sons Dennis Alan Hedges, Bernard Herman Hedges (June) and John Anthony Hedges (Missy); and two daughters, Christine Louise Beard (Dave) and Marie Eleanor McGinn (Kip). Also by 18 grandchildren, Dawn, Rochelle, Hillary, Quinn, Rebecca, David, Ricky, Amy, Aaron, John B., Allison, Hans, Faith, Grace, Glory, Joy, Christian, and Mark; and 11 great grandchildren
Funeral Service will be on Friday, Sept 23, 3:00 PM at Chime Bell Baptist Church, 1699 Gray Mare Hollow Rd., Aiken, SC 29803 with Pastor Gary Fleetwood officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
