Graveside services for Mrs. Vergie Benton Rourk Van Hooser will be held Wednesday, March 2, 2005 at 11 AM at Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC with The Reverend Leon C. Mozeliak officiating. No visitation will be held at the funeral home. Mrs. Van Hooser, 81, of Aiken, SC, died Saturday, morning, February 26, 2005 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Hendersonville, SC, a daughter of the late LeRoy and Pearl Breland Benton, she had been a resident of Aiken for the last forty-two years where she retired from South Carolina Electric and Gas. She was a member of St. Thaddeus Episcopal Church and she had previously been very active in various ladies organizations at the Aiken Shrine Club. She is survived sons, Bill Rourk, Aiken, SC and Michael Rourk, Charleston, SC; daughters, Mary Huckabee, and Patsy Yon, both of Charleston, SC and Pam Hamm, Aiken, SC; brother, Roy Benton, Jr., Beaufort, SC; eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her parents, her husbands, William Marion Rourk, Jr. and A.L. ?Puppy? Van Hooser, also preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to Shriner?s Hospitals for Children, 950 W. Faris Rd., Greenville, SC 29605-4277
