AIKEN, SC- Lynelle McManaman Chaput, 75 years of age, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 9, 2016. Lennie is survived by her husband, Ernest; daughters Kristin Frazier, and her husband, Michael A. Frazier, Jr. (Lake Wylie, SC), Teresa Chaput (Aiken, SC) and Amy Warlick (Gastonia, NC), grandson Tyler Frazier (Albuquerque, NM), brother Richard McManaman, and his wife, Mary Lou (Bonita Springs, FL) and many cousins in the US and Ireland. Lennie was born and raised in Lincoln, Nebraska. She met her husband while attending the University of Nebraska, and thereafter remained a loyal Cornhusker fan. Upon their graduations they spent fifteen years living, working and raising their family in Idaho, Nevada, California and Maryland before moving to Aiken in 1978. Lennie was fond of her rose garden, an experienced blue-water sailor and enjoyed entertaining, traveling and dancing. She was passionate about children, and upon arriving in Aiken, became a second grade teacher at Saint Mary Help of Christians school. She was also a teacher and care-giver at Children's Place and a South Carolina Guardian Ad Litem. She was happiest when in the company of family and friends. Her friends describe her as 'an incredible lady,' 'sweet,' 'classy', 'fun loving,' 'principled,' and 'a loyal friend.' She touched many lives, and all will miss her. Lennie was a member of Saint Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the George Funeral Home between 6 and 8 PM on Wednesday, January 13. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM Thursday January 14 at Old Saint Mary's Church, Park Ave. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either Saint Mary Help of Christians Church, Children's Place or the American Cancer Society. The Historic George Funeral Home, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803.649.6234), has charge of arrangements.
