NEW ELLENTON, SC - Eladia Diana Welsch, age 86, entered into rest Wednesday, February 15, 2017. Mrs. Welsch was born October 4, 1930 in Cebu City, Philippines to the late Andres and Fausta Diana. She received her Bachelor's Degree and was an educator. She was a resident of the area since 1977 until 2014 when she had to move to be closer to her daughter in Concord, NC. Mrs. Welsch was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church for over 30 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, George Welsch, Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Nelly Welsch of Concord, NC; two sisters, Jacinta Barredo, Olongapo City, Philippines and Florita Delute, Cebu City, Philippines; four brothers, Manuel Diana, Valley Center, CA, Clemente Diana, Highland, CA, Paciente Diana, Cebu City, Philippines and Marcelo Diana, Cebu City, Philippines; a step-daughter, Georgine Voelker, Stephenson, Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 20, 2017 at the old historic St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Park Ave., with Father Renuard West as celebrant. Final prayers and commendation will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. A prayer service will be held at 6:15 PM on Sunday evening followed by visitation until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
