Obituary of Carolyn Boise Siegelman

Mrs. Carolyn Boise Siegelman, 84, of Aiken died Monday, January 6, 2014. She was daughter of the late Nelson and Fredericka Boise and was also preceded in death by her first husband Edward James Lorincz.
Memorial services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday, January 10, at All Saints Anglican Church in Aiken, SC. Reception will follow the service at the Parish Hall.
Mrs. Siegelman (nee Carolyn Tuttle Boise) was born and lived in Plainfield, NJ, where she graduated from Plainfield High School. After attending Greenbrier College for Women in WV, she married E. James Lorincz in 1951 and moved to North Plainfield, NJ where she was well-known as "Winkie". She lovingly raised daughter Pamela and was active socially and in volunteer work in the community.
She was an ardent member of the Women's Auxiliary of Muhlenberg Hospital in Plainfield and joined several of the Auxiliary Twigs. During her association with Muhlenberg she served as Chairman of the Service Shop as well as First Vice President and subsequently President of the Women's Auxiliary. As President, she also served on its Board of Governors. She was instrumental in fundraising, chairing numerous successful capital campaigns and was appointed to the Muhlenberg Foundation's Board of Trustees.
Carolyn was also involved with The King's Daughters in Plainfield. She was a member of the Unity Circle and was on the Board of Trustees, serving as Assistant Treasurer and President of The King's Daughters Day School, where she also worked as school receptionist. She also served as President of the International Order of The King's Daughters and Sons, New Jersey Branch.
An active member of St. Stephen's Anglican Church in Plainfield, Carolyn taught and was superintendent of the Sunday school as well as serving on the Alter Guild for many years. Her titles at St. Stephen's also included Jr. Warden, Warden, and Treasurer.
Carolyn served as a Cub Scout leader, though after her daughter came of age became a Brownie and then Girl Scout troop leader.
After her husband's death, she married George Siegelman in 1998. Carolyn and George were awarded the Betty Keating for their contributions to the Muhlenberg hospital. In 2012 Carolyn and George moved to Aiken to be close to her daughter. Upon her arrival in Aiken, she joined All Saints Anglican Church where she continued to work with the Altar Guild.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, George Siegelman of Aiken; daughter, Pam Skiles of Aiken; brother, Robert Boise of Huntington, NY; sisters, Marion Seesselberg of Warren, NJ and Anita Evans of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Matthew Skiles and Brittany Cook of Columbia, SC, and Diana Skiles of Aiken; and great-grandson, Robert Gabriel Skiles. Other survivors include her son-in-law and five step-children and their families as well as 12 nieces and nephews and their families.
