Funeral services for Mr. Hughie Thomas Johnson will be held on Wednesday, June 13, 2007 at 2pm at Foreman Memorial Baptist Church with Rev Jim Duncan and Rev. Jimmie Duncan officiating. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the time of service at the church. Mr. Johnson, 84, of New Ellenton, died Sunday, June 10, 2007 at his residence. Born in Campabello, SC, he was the son of the late Ben H. and Mattie C. Allen Johnson. He moved to New Ellenton in 1951 from Clemson. He served his country in the Army during World War II and was present at the Battle of the Bulge. He was retired from DuPont Savannah River Site after thirty years of service in health physics. He was a member of Foreman Memorial Baptist Church and loved to play golf. He is survived by his wife, Lula Campbell Johnson, nephew, Fred F. Paris, and niece, Linda Crabtree.
