Michael Alan Jones, 61, of Aiken entered into rest on Friday morning, May 1, 2009 of natural causes. Mike was born August 24, 1947 in Des Moines, Iowa, he grew up in California. He has made Aiken his home for the last 12 years. Mike was the former manager of Southlawn Cemetery. He was the husband of Mrs. Sharon Jones and son of the late Mr. William John Jones and Mrs. Edith Roe Jones. He was preceded in death by his son, William Michael Jones, and his first grandson Jared Niall Barrios. Mike is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sharon Jones, his best buddy, Bear, daughter, Michele Barrios and daughter and son-in-law Kimberly and James Hasse, all of New Ellenton. Also surviving are three very dear grandchildren, Tori & Douglas Barrios, and Ashley Hasse, brother and sister-in-law, Stephen and Terry Jones, Turlock, CA, sister-in-laws Patricia McClellan, Aiken, Nancy Petersen, Alta Loma, CA, Gayle Mitchell, Victorville, CA, brother-in-law, Michael Mitchell, Aiken, many nieces, nephews, and friends. "Although our dad lived every minute in pain, he had a smile on his face and he would help out anyone at the drop of a hat and not ask for anything in return. His pain did not sour his heart." A visitation with the family will be Tuesday, May 5th at 6 - 8 pm at George Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken. A Graveside services will be held Wednesday, May 5th at 9:00 am with Pastor Darrell Morgan officiating at Southlawn Cemetery. The family will also receive friends following the service at their house. He will be missed by all who knew him, and loved him.
