Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Follmer Rhoden will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 2pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken with Rev. Jim Kirk officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery, Ridge Spring. Visitation will be tonight Friday from 6 - 8 pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to Redds Branch Baptist Church, 390 Redds Branch Rd, Aiken, SC, 29801, or Memorial Baptist Church, 3100 Vaucluse Rd, Aiken, SC, 29801. Mrs. Rhoden, 96, of Aiken, died Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at Shadow Oaks Assisted Living. Mrs. Rhoden was born in and a lifelong resident of Aiken County, SC. She was the daughter of the late Ahai and Janie Elizabeth Woodward Follmer. She was a ticket writer for the Graniteville Co. from 1944 -1972 in the Gregg cloth room. She was a member of Redds Branch Baptist Church. She loved to crochet, do needle work, and ceramics. She was featured in the Shadow Oaks commercial on NBC Channel 26, Augusta. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin Gorden Rhoden. She is survived by her son, Benjamin F. Geneva Rhoden, Aiken, daughter, Evon R. Ted Zuppa, Greenville, SC, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren.
