Funeral services for Mr. Thomas Edward Stone will take place on Monday, June 21, 2010 at 3pm at Montmorenci Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Byars, Wyman Inabinet, Jimmy Booth, John Yoder, Bradley McNamara, II and Danny Stone. Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin Beck, Jerry Love, Don Shaffer, Steve Kisner and Blen Martin. The family will receive friends on Sunday evening from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC. Mr. Stone, 71, beloved father, brother and papa, passed away in his home in Aiken on June 18, 2010 after an extended illness. Born to the late Carl and Rose Herron Stone, Thomas was raised in Aiken County. An avid hunter and fisherman, the army veteran, affectionately known as Tomcat, was a drywall contractor for 50 years. Since retiring, he has spent his days gardening and being a grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother; Teddy. He is survived by his sister Sara Mae Roy Parrish, brothers Frank Judy, Jerry Donnette, Roy Renata, and Jack Jennifer. He is the father of Timothy Edward Stone, Sr. Amy and Sandra Dean Stone Williams who have given him 8 grandchildren, Aliza, Amber, Annabeth, Dustin, Ethan, Jesse, Lexie and Timothy. He has two great grandsons, Lucas and Skyler. In addition, Thomas has two paternal aunts, Lottie Pritchard and Rosie Huff, a maternal aunt, Garnell Napier, and 10 nieces and nephews. Thomas was lovingly cared for by his son and daughter in law with the assistance of the doctors and nurses at Aiken Regional Medical Center and the wonderful, loving staff of Southern Care Hospice. The family will forever be grateful to Cara, Lauri, Susan, and Miss Willie Mae.
