A Celebration of Life service for Mrs. Shelia Ann Roberts will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2pm at Cedar Creek Church. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 12pm until the hour of service at the church. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to MADD, Aiken County Animal Shelter, Aiken SPCA, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Mrs. Roberts, 54, of Aiken, died Saturday, January 8, 2011 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Panama City, FL, she was the daughter of Lowell Thomas Jett and Betty Sapp Jett. She moved to Aiken in 1974. She graduated from the University of South Carolina - Aiken with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice. While attending USC she was a cheer leader. Shelia worked for the City of Aiken, where she was the first woman traffic officer. She was a restaurant manager at the former Olive Oils, Big Easy and the Dry Dock. She was a host at Casa Bella. She also worked at the Wine Cellar and No. 10 Downing Street. She loved to cook, entertain, and planning for family vacations. Shelia was a loving wife, mother, sister, and aunt.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Samuel "Sam" J. Roberts, III, son, Kyle Angela Roberts, Aiken; sister, Debbie Sapp, Huntsville, TX; brother-in-law, Michael Adams, nieces, Bailey Adams, Jetta Adams, Twilla Adam Mann, nephews, Michael Nikki Kissiah, Lauren Kissah, several great nieces and great nephews.
