A memorial service for Mr. Kenneth L. Baldwin will take place on Monday, June 20, 2011 at 2pm at GEORGE FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTER, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken.
Mr. Baldwin, 88, of Aiken, died Wednesday, June 15, 2011 at his residence.
The son of the late Irving Baldwin and Josephine E. Livingston Baldwin, he was born in Orange, NJ and had lived in Essex & Morris County NJ before retiring to Bluffton, SC in 1991 and then moving to Aiken in 1999.
Ken served proudly in WWII as a Lieutenant with the US Navy. He loved his career in international freight forwarding which allowed him to travel around the world. One of his projects was transporting the White Stallions of Vienna for a world tour. He enjoyed his lakefront homes in New Jersey before retiring. Each move was an adventure, and each home was a project he and his wife undertook with panache. His beloved dog Dixie was by his side until the end.
He is survived by his wife Norma Lee Baldwin, Aiken; a son, James Marilu Boggs Baldwin, Wilmington, DE; a daughter, Louise David Douglas Baldwin, Ann Arbor, MI; a step-son, Ernest Roxy Fischer, Parowan, UT; two step-daughters, Nancy Fischer, St. Louis, MO and Betsy John Nickel, Horsham, PA and his beloved dog, Dixie.
