A memorial service for Mrs. Helen Chapman Parkinson will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at 1 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, Aiken, SC with Rev. Dr. David B. Cozad and Rev. Martha M. Ebel officiating. Inurnment will follow in the church columbarium. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Mrs. Parkinson, 80, of Lexington, SC, and also a former resident of Aiken, SC, died Sunday, afternoon, May 8, 2005 at the Presbyterian Home, Lexington, SC. Born in Birmingham, AL, a daughter of the late Roy and Mary Wilson Chapman, she was a graduate of Auburn University where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Mrs. Parkinson had worked at various places as an Accountant. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Aiken, SC. She is survived by her husband of fifty-seven years, Dr. Thomas Franklin Parkinson, a daughter, Martha Parkinson Craddock, Charlottesville, VA; a brother, William Ashley Chapman, Los Altos, CA; and grandchildren, George Craddock, III, Jenny Grier Craddock, and Ashley Craddock. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 224 Barnwell Ave., NW, Aiken, SC 29801 or the charity of your choice.
