James Edward Quinn, 81, of Aiken, passed away quietly at home Wednesday, November 2, 2005 under the loving care of Regency Hospice. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2005 at 3 p.m. at George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. Aiken. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery Columbarium. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 2 p.m. until the time of the service and otherwise at the family residence, 106 Taylor St.
Mr. Quinn was a son of the late William Benjamin Quinn and Emma Plemmons Quinn of Buffalo, SC. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was retired from the Savannah River Plant where he had worked for 33 years in the 400 Area.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Sizemore Quinn, Aiken, children Jo Ann Quinn of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Carolyn Nichols and her husband Curtis, of Aiken; Susan Sand and her husband Paul, of Aiken; and Mitchell Nay Quinn, of Raleigh, North Carolina. Grandchildren: James Reynolds, Charlotte, NC, Jeannie Nichols Day, Aiken SC; Michael C. Nichols of Atlanta; Melissa Reynolds James and her husband Tim of North Little Rock, Arkansas; Caitlin Jill Sand of Aiken, SC. Great-grandchildren: Jacob Day and Brooke Day of Aiken; Myra Ann James of North Little Rock, Arkansas.
