My dearest and most precious gift I miss you with all my heart. There is nothing worse than losing my beloved son and trusted friend. My heart is absolutely broken and I don't know if I will ever heal from such a deep loss. Rest in peace "Butter Bean", until the day comes when I can join you in paradise. May God keep you is his loving arms as I no longer can do that. I love you more than life itself son and cannot describe the pain, the loss or the hole in my heart. A big part of me has died with you. So many unanswered questions...only know my love, pride and respect could not be deeper than it is for you. Good-bye my precious love, until we meet again. Mama

I was in Tau Kappa Epsilon with John here at OU. He had stopped coming around in the past year or so, but I\'d still see him now and then on campus or at the comic book shop. Imagine my shock when I open up the paper and find an obituary...
John was a brother to me, and a teacher. He was also just generally a great guy. He helped pull the fraternity through some tough times. And he was always willing to give me a ride.
He will definitely be missed.

I don\'t know where to start.
I\'m going to miss John terribly. He was the greatest of friends, and I so terribly regret that we hadn\'t seen as much of each other this year. But I saw John just a couple of weeks ago. And it was as if we\'d never been apart. His fun and joyous spirit really did lighten the world we lived in.
John meant the world to me. We had so many great times together. He had a huge will to perservere, cared stronlgy about people, only wanted peace and happiness in our lives, and always lived looking forward.
And he always lived in God. We talked one specific night for many hours, after eating at Pizza Hut here in Norman, about our beliefs in general and about God. John had such a strong spirit. I know he has found his way to the Lord\'s kingdom.
I want to hurt and cry. But how can I so much. John is home.
We will see him again.
And as a new friend wrote about recently... he is up there now... but we know John. He\'ll be up there sneaking the odds in our favor in life, and watching over us laughing with us every chance there is as we go forward.
God bless you John. I will miss you so very much buddy.

John was the sweetest, smartest, big hearted person I have ever known. He so loved his family and God. His love of life showed through everything he did. He never failed to make me laugh and went out of his way to make his friends and family happy. He was determend like his Mother and softhearted like his Father. Both in good balance and he so appreciated his parents. He loved travel, baseball, cards, and his kitty\'s. Not all in that order. :He had a wonderful singing voice and a great sense of humour. I deeply loved and cared for him and pray for his family now and in days to come. I know now he will be watching all of us and some part of him will be with us always.
With love and my sympathies

John loved OU and baseball, and there were are so many memories that we shared that involved both of those that it\'s hard to pick just one.
My fondest memory of John definitely has to do with a trip we took to the OU vs Missouri football game. We had decided to eat before we left town. That afternoon, we laughed so hard and clowned around so much that waiter was even laughing. I\'ll never forget the image of seeing John\'s entire face light up when he laughed. Just remembering it makes me smile.

Jay and I shared two loves - baseball cards and OU. I\'ve known Jay for several years, seeing him often at Mike and JJ\'s card shop. Last summer he joined Mike, Russ, and me for a weekly dinner where we opened cards and shared stories. I will be out of town and will the visitation and memorial service. Please know that I share your loss. Mimi Jones
