Obituary of Andrew Joseph Grodzicki
Please share a memory of Andrew to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
AIKEN, SC- Andrew Joseph Grodzicki passed away October 27, 2015 in Greenville Hospital, Greenville, SC. He had been battling a rare form of Neuroendocrine Carcinoid Tumors. There is no known cure, so all of his treatments were for other forms of cancer. He was denied a lot of drugs because they were not designed for his type of cancer. He kept his spirits up till the end!
Andy was born May 27, 1950 in East Chicago, IL to the late Joseph Stanley and the late Pauline Grodzicki.
He will be deeply missed by his wife, Eva, of 42 years and sons, Joseph II, wife Beth, and their children, Caroline and Joseph III of Winder, GA; and son Nicholas, wife Sarah, and their children, Madison and Ayden, of Simpsonville, SC.
Andy retired from the United States Air Force with 20 ½ years of service in 1991. He enlisted as a non-commissioned officer for ten years, got out to get his degree from Memphis State University, Memphis, TN, and later his Master's from Campbell University, Buies, NC. He re-entered the service as an officer. He was in the field of Procurement/Contracts in the military and civilian life. His last job till his death was with Louis Berger, an engineering firm in Greenville, SC. He loved his field of work from the purchasing, negotiating, to the completing the deal. It was a game to him, and he loved teaching the job to others.
Andy's body was cremated and a memorial service will be held November 14, 2015 at 1:00 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church, 2724 Whiskey Road, Aiken, SC 29803.
