Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche Van Slooten will be held at 2pm on Friday, February 2, 2007 at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken, with Rev. Michael Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 1pm until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will take place in Southlawn Cemetery. Mrs. Van Slooten , 85, died Friday, January 26, 2007 at The Hills of Cumberland Village. Born to the late Henry and Blanche Coppee Wiegers, she was born in Patterson, NJ, and had lived in Toms River, NJ, Deal, NJ, Wayne, NJ and North Haledon, NJ before moving to Aiken in 2000. Blanche received a Bachelor's degree in Music from Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY. She taught violin in Wayne, NJ, and was the choir director at Preakness Christian Reform Church, in Wayne, NJ for twenty years. Blanche was a loving mother and wife. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, David Van Slooten, brother, Blair Wiegers, and sister, Dorothy Schumacher. She is survived by her daughters, Joyce Don Drinkwater, Aiken, Cheryl Bruce VanNess, Greenville, SC, sons, Dale Marion Van Slooten, Greenville, SC, Paul Susan Van Slooten, Ocean, NJ, Glen Van Slooten, Jensen Beach, FL, grandchildren, Christina Van Slooten, Chad Van Slooten, Eric Van Slooten, Adam Van Slooten, Lisa Gottberg, Nathan Drinkwater, Michael Drinkwater, Rebecca Drinkwater, Catherine VanNess, Great grandchildren, Kaitlin Babb, and Brianna Van Slooten.
