Funeral services for Jeanette Stroud Rourk, will be held Monday, September 11, 2006 at 3pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center 211 Park Avenue, SW, Aiken with Rev. Cathy Cole officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6pm until 8pm at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to SPCA, 401 Wire Road, Aiken, SC, 29801 or Heartland Hospice, 1365 Interstate Parkway, Augusta, GA, 30909. Mrs. Rourk, 82, of Aiken, died Saturday, September 9, 2006 at T. M. Health & Rehab, Edgefield. A daughter of the late Matt and Della Stroud, she was born in Frederick, OK. She moved to Aiken in 1952 from Oklahoma City, OK. She was a member of Aiken?s First Baptist Church and several bridge clubs. Mrs. Rourk was swimming instructor for the Red Cross in the 1950?s. She was an avid artist and seamstress. In addition to her parents Mrs. Rourk was predeceased by a daughter, Bobbie Carpenter and a sister Geneva Treadaway. She is survived by her husband of thirty two years, John Rourk, sons, Sam C. Azillee Hughes, Aiken, James Bonnie Sue Hughes, Auburn, GA, daughters; Toodie William Furr, Orangeburg, Jo Jimmy Gibson, Edgefield, Ann Ronnie White, Lawndale, NC, nephew, Chuck Martha Martin, ten grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
