Aiken, SC-Funeral services for Mr. William H. McQueen will be held Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at 7 PM at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave., SW, Aiken, SC, with Dr. David Cozad and Pastor Martha Ebel officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery West, Charlotte, NC at 1 PM Thursday, November 18, 2004. The family will receive friends from 6 until 7 PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mr. McQueen, 76, of Aiken, SC, husband of forty-four years to Mrs. Barbara Simpson McQueen, died Sunday, November 14, 2004. Born in McDonalds, NC, he was a son of the late William Archibald and Sara Ellen Johnson McQueen, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War where he obtained the rank of Corporal. He was a retired Mechanical Engineer. Mr. McQueen had been a resident of Charlotte, NC, where he was a member of the American Legion Post #262, the forty and eight, prior to coming to Aiken, SC, ten years ago where he joined the First Presbyterian Church and the Aiken Senior Men?s Club. In addition to his wife, a daughter, Barbara and her husband, Terry Montgomery, Aiken, SC; sons, Michael Campbell and his fiancé Donna Bicchieri, Pinehurst, NC and David and his wife, Kathy Campbell, North Myrtle Beach, SC; sister, Doris Shine, VA; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild, survive. The family has asked that memorials in memory of Mr. McQueen be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, 1247 Lake Murray Blvd., Irmo, SC 29063.
