Funeral services for Mrs. Sandy E. Lane will be held on Saturday, July 18, 2009 at 4pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC with Rev. Eddie Moyer officiating. Entombment will follow at Southlawn Cemetery & Mausoleum. The family will receive friends tonight at the funeral home from 6-8pm. Memorial donations may be directed to the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, PO Box 75265, Dallas, TX 75265-0309. Mrs. Lane, 60, of Windsor, died Thursday, July 15, 2009 at her residence. Sandy was born in Salley, SC and was a life-long resident of Aiken County. She worked as a machine operator at the Owens Corning fiberglass plant where she met her true love and soon to be husband, Jerry Lane. She retired and became a housewife moving to Windsor, SC where she spent 24 years of marriage and up to her last days working the land and tending to the family she was proud of and so loved. She has been the kindest of friends, the most loyal of wives and the most nurturing of mothers. She will always be missed and never forgotten. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Lane, Windsor, two daughters; Cassie Navicki, Aiken and Brandy Lane, Windsor, step-children; Jerry Lane, Graniteville and Christy Valenzuela, Aiken, and siblings; Glenn Hallman, Columbia, SC, Gene Ray Elders, Columbia, Vernon Elders, Columbia, SC Elaine Hall, Salley, SC, Ernestine Mitchum, Windsor and Helen Metcalf Pelion. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Candice Navicki.
