Graveside services for Robert Earl Layton will be Friday, December 16, 2005 at 2 pm at Woodridge Memorial Park, Lexington with Revs Troy Payne and John Holsenback. Visitation will be Thursday, December 15, 2005 from 7 ? 9 pm at George Funeral Homes, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Avenue, SW Aiken. Mr. Layton, 75, of Aiken died Monday, December 12, 2005 at his residence. Born in Richmond, KY he was the son of the late Henry and Emma York Layton. Robert had lived in Cincinnati, OH and Fort Myers FL before moving to Aiken three years ago. Mr. Layton was the owner of L & S Painting. Robert was a Mason, a member of the VFW, and the American Legion. He was also an avid fisherman. He is predeceased by a brother John Layton. He is survived by his wife Emma Jean Pendygraft Layton, son Mark H. Rose Layton, Aiken, sister Louise Leslie Tussey sister in law Alice Layton, and several nieces and nephews.
