Randy Pottinger posted a condolence

Dear Laurie and Emery,
As I mentioned to you when you were up in PA, I truly believe that the most profound streams of thought within all of the great spiritual traditions of both West Christian-based and East Hindu-, Buddhist-, and Taoist-based teach that everything that happens to each of us will ultimately prove to be for the benefit of our spiritual development throughout eternity because each of us learns from every experience--both good such as all of the wonderful love and support that you provided to Mike, or "Rick" as I called him and bad such as the ordeal that he went through during his illness--that occurs in our physical lives. Thus, I honestly feel that there was a purpose in what Mike went through and that it will eventually be shown to have been worthwhile. I don't know for certain where Mike's consciousness is right now, but my belief is that he's resting and will eventually rise again--this time for all of eternity--having learned from all of the things that he's experienced another point held in common by all of these belief systems. Considering that these teachings are so widespread and inherently sensible and just, I just have to believe that they at least contain the essence of truth. I really hope that looking at Mike's passing from this kind of perspective might help you to gain some measure of comfort, and you'll continue to be in the thoughts and prayers of my family and myself.
Sincerely,
Randy Pottinger

Laurie and Emery,
I am so very very sorry to hear about Mike. I have such fond memories spending time with Mike, how could I not, he was a part of our wedding. I know it's not much comfort but I'm sure he's with John now talking about golf and all they did. To lose John and now Mike, both at such young ages. I think I know what you are going through so If you would like to talk, I'm here.
My deepest sympathy to you all.

My sincere sympathy to Laurie, Emery and the Polochko family.
There are no words that can express my sorrow for loosing someone that has only shown me kindness and friendship as we worked together at the Site for the past fourteen years. Mike was the most wonderful boss that anyone could ever have. I will miss him in the physical but I will carry his presence in my heart forever. I will remember our chats and his guidance as he trained me and helped me to grow into being a manager. I know that he is now in a much better place but I know that doesn't make it easy for the family that loves him. My prayers will be with you through this very difficult time.

I am so sad to hear of Mike's passing. He was my manager in SRNL and a wonderful one at that. He was one of the most thoughtful, generous, caring people I know.
I always loved to stop and talk to him especially about Emery. Every year for her birthday he would come and ask me what kind of birthday party they should have since I have 2 girls and could relate.
My thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. Please call me if there is anything I can help with especially with Emery.
