E. Floyd posted a condolence
Friday, April 26, 2013
My family and I were saddened by the passing of such a great man. It is a very sad time when we lose someone we love and I just wanted to offer some comfort and encouragement from the Bible. We remember the good times we had with them and how much we love them. When we loose someone we love the Bible gives us a comforting message to help us cope with their death. This message is found at Revelation 21:3, 4 and Isaiah 33:24. May these words bring you comfort as they did me when my mother died.
Deepest Sympathy,
Ms. Floyd

Ray & Family, many years ago Lee had the wonderful opportunity to spend a night in your parent\'s home in Atlanta. She returned with a glowing account of how fine your mother and father were. Although I did not get to know your parents I know you will find comfort in remembering all the guidance, strength and love with which your father touched your life. Those precious gifts will always live on in you. With deepest sympathy, Lee and Fred Cavanaugh

Dear Ray, Frank and Lucy,
Although we never met, I certainly felt as though I knew you because I was your father\'s secretary at Price Waterhouse in the last few years before he retired. I came to him newly married; in fact, I first introduced myself to him by my maiden name, by mistake. We both laughed and, from then on, we enjoyed several years working together. What a delightful gentleman he was! He was always very kind to me and my husband Bucky. I remember well this one particular project I worked on for him. It was a PW cruise to Jamaica. Because he felt I had worked especially hard on all the arrangements, he generously invited my husband and me to come along as well! It was simply wonderful! Actually we enjoyed many lovely occasions with both your parents. Once our son was born, we moved to Washington, D.C. so we didn\'t see them for 12 years. In 1990 when we returned to Atlanta, we reunited with them. It was such a pleasure for us to have them meet our children. I\'m sure our son who is now 24 will remember Mr. and Mrs. Vaughters. We were so surprised to learn of your mother\'s death and are thankful we happened to see your father\'s obituary in our paper. Please know that we shall remember both your parents as vibrant, interesting, caring and fun! Our thoughts are with you and your family. Fondly, Cathy and Bucky Askew

I am writing this for my mother, Bettie Barnes Messner, who was in the class behind Mr. Vaughter\'s at the University of Arkansas. In fact, he asked her to be his ROTC Battilion sponsor during his senior year. She enjoyed his piano recitals and they were very good friends. My mother spoke very highly of Mr. Vaughters throughout the years, and was always much impressed and appreciative of his military career, and for his many contributions to community, family and children services in the Atlanta area. My mother was very saddened to hear of his passing, and she asked me to please extend her condolences. Our best to all your family.

I thought the world of your parents, and am sorry they are gone. They were very special people in my life -- so kind and so generous. I drive by Knollwood often and think of you all. The house being gone is bizarre, but I think I almost miss the lamp on the street the most -- when it shined, it evoked many memories for me. I hope life has treated you all well, and I mourn with you.

Nelson deRosset Ross posted a condolence
Friday, February 28, 2003
In the summer of 1973, my father, Rev. Frank Ross of All Saints Church, Atlanta, asked Mr. Vaughters about getting me a summer job at Price Waterhouse & Co. before I went to college. Well, I worked there off and on and finally full- time until 2000. Mr. Vaughters and Christine became friends to me even after his retirement. I will never forget Mr. Vaughters coming to one of my going away parties at Manuels Tavern probably in the 1990\'s. He was dignified as ever. " I have\'nt been to a place like this in years." I remember that he liked to take those of us on the Administrative staff at PW to Christmas Lunch at the Commerce Club. He was a wonderful man who offered me his counsel. He had a positive impact on my life. I will always miss him and remember him fondly. Nelson Ross.
