Obituary of Juanita Lillian Colquitt

Funeral services for Mrs. Juanita Lillian "Nita" Colquitt will take place on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 3pm at the Salvation Army Church, 322 Gayle Ave. Interment, with military honors will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the church from 2pm until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be directed to the church or to the Aiken SPCA.
Mrs. Colquitt, 88, of Aiken, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.
A daughter of the late Charles Miller and Romie Smith Miller, she was born on November 29, 1921 Elmore, AL and later lived in Barnwell, SC before moving to Aiken in 1970. Nita served in the US Navy during WW and was honorably discharged in 1945. She was a caregiver and was well known for working at the Sunday nursery at First Presbyterian Church of Aiken. She had attended the Salvation Army Church for many years. She was a Home League Member, Women's Ministries and Activities and the League of Mercy.
She is survived by two sisters; Ruth Reid and Bernice Clayton, her best friend and caregiver during her last days; Dorothy Coursey, friends; Gayle and Allen Parkman and several nephews. She is also survived by her many friends at The Croft House.
