I have many found memories of being at Meemaw and Popolo's for sleep overs with Kim. It has been too long since seeing or speaking to the family and only in my recent search for Kim did I find this. I am so sorry for you loss and wish sincere condolences from my family to yours. I am hopeful to hear from anyone in this family in regards to reaching Kim. Happy Holidays from the Thompson, Halene who lost David March 2007 and my family the Stilwell's, Gregory, Leah and Zachary. Much love from Memphis to you all!

I am so sorry for your loss. I was looking at some home movies the other day and there on the screen was the Grimes family. Our families were on one of their camping trips in the Smokies. My parents told us of how the famlies met camping and how they had stayed friends all these years. As a Northerner, Mrs. Grimes was always what I had envisioned a real Southern Lady to be like. I have not seen her in many years, but have always had such fond memories of both her and Mr. Grimes.

Meemaw was a spirited, vivacious woman. A wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She was truly someone to look up to and admire. She carried her Christian values to her family, and planted many seeds that continue to grow today. She is loved and will be missed, but we know she is better now, with a renewed mind and body, with Poppy, and with THE LORD!!!

So sorry to learn of your family's loss. She sounds like a lovely person, and I know Nikki loved her so dearly. Nikki works with me and she must have inherited some of her grandmother's wonderful traits. Betsy Echols

I work with Nikki and can see that she inherited some of her grandmother's traits. I do know that it is an honor for Nikki to carry her grandmother's name.
Although I did not know Mrs Grimes personally, I feel like I learned a lot about her by reading the well written obituary. Nikki really loved her Meemaw and she spoke of her often. Like Mrs. Grimes, Nikki has a huge heart and she is a very dear friend and I know she will miss her grandmother a lot. I send a special prayer to Nikki and her father and to the entire Grimes family.

My memories of Lawrence and Katheryn go all the way back to Memphis when I was a child. The two of them were such a joy always planning activities for us "teens", teaching our classes, Lawrence leading a singing group, filming Easter Sundays, Katheryn's wonderful hats...so many blessings they were to us then and even here in Aiken. Jim and I will treasure all the times we were priviledged to be with these two special people! We know they are in heaven with Abe, Cassie, Neal, Clif and Mildred recalling good times at Lamar-Parkway church!
