I am so saddened to hear of Mary Ann's passing. We grew up together in Abbeville and I spent lots of time with her at the big white house with the two huge trees on North Main St. We were Girl Scouts, basketball teammates, graduated AHS Class of '49 together. She always made our class reunions a great success and we all will miss her.
See you later, my friend.

Lost ... a Class of '49 icon and a good friend. She brightened our childhood days and our school years and was a shining light in our adult lives. Never to be forgotten. May she rest in peace.

Our condolences to the family, we keep you in our thoughts. "A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine desert us; when trouble thickens around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts." ~Washington Irving

Mary Ann was the life of the party at Kalmia Landing functions when we all lived there. She and I went on a road trip to see a Chinese exhibit in Memphis before she became ill. We also saw the Peabody ducks and had some laughs at a side trip to Elvis' home. What fun we had. Rest peacefully dear friend, your suffering is finally over

Our deepest sympathy to Mary Ann's family. She was the "life of the party" at the 2002 Abbeville High School Class of '49 Reunion at our home, and we all loved seeing her. We were all sad when her health deteriorated and she was no longer able to attend the reunions; she was truly missed by all. Deepest sympathy to each of you.

While I grieve for my friend Mary Ann, I thank God that her suffering has ended. Due to her health and mine we were unable to connect in awhile. She was a dear and loved friend and I enjoyed her friendship for many years. My thoughts are with the family. And, Mary Ann, until we meet again.

To Mary Ann's Family, I share in your grief at this time. Mary Ann was a dear friend of mine while growing up in Abbeville. Over the years we shared so much with one another. We laughed together, cried together, had much fun together, and were teammates on the basketball team at Abbeville High. I shall cherish these memories forever. My sympathy goes out to you.
