God Bless You Bob. You will always be in my prayers. I knew Bob for over 35 years. He was great friends with my two sons John and Bob Edwards. He was like a member of my family. Most times he would call me Mom, We had great times together. Even though I hadn!t see him in a long time, we did keep in contact by email and once in a while by phone. He will be missed by all of us.

There was much love in Bob\'s life: his family, friends, nature, a hard day\'s work, and above all telling a great story. I did not know him for long but I heard so much of his life, adventures, his longings, dreams, insights, his quest to learn...within the short time we worked together, I had grown to known him and respect him. He shared so much and I so little which leaves a deep regret...for time passed much too quickly.
I can only pass on how much he loved his life and those who closest to him. He spoke of you all with the upmost respect and love such that often broke my heart. My sympathies to all of Bob\'s loved ones..he was a great man who lived life.

Dear Erik and Karin:
Good children come from good parents. One wants to know the kind of parent one has been, when at the end of life, the children one cares about are around. You showed that love and care to your father.
You will feel his presence not physically any more but in the wind around you. Our deepest condolences.

My wife Mary, brother John and his wife Marilyn send our sincere sympathy to all Bob\'s family and extended family. John and I met "Stumpfy" when we were 16 and working at W.T.Grant in Nanuet NY. When you connect with someone at that age, it is a forever friendship. Whether you don\'t see or hear from them for years at a time, it never seems to matter, you pick up where you left off and there is a constant comfort level in the relationship. I just got this e-mail last night and didn\'t sleep very well. My mind just kept being flooded by one memory after another, all good. I remember Grant monthly parties at Mumford\'s or our house, surfing trips to Beach Haven on the Jersey shore, August 1969, while everyone else was heading to Woodstock, renting a place in Beach Haven for the month before college and rotating friends coming to stay for a week at a time at $50 a head so we could buy groceries, having a beach blanket that started with 3 of us and grew daily to maybe 15. I still have the surfboard that I bought from Bob second hand in my basement. My own kids can\'t believe that I actually ever used it! I remember summer trips to Montauk Point and fishing with gear that Bob\'s father got us on Canal Street. I still have that too! I remember the look on Bob\'s uncle\'s face when he walked in on the 6 of us at Peterson\'s Efficienies at Montauk in 1970. We would all eventually be married but weren\'t at the time. I remember Bob stopping in to see me in Pittsfield MA when I was 2yrs out of dental school and moonlighting while starting a practice in Stockbridge. He took the TIME to see me.
I had been e-mailing Bob since I heard that he was sick and at one point called to talk. He was BOB, and we picked up like always. In an e-mail, I told him that John and I wanted to come down and take him out for a beer but he said no, that John and I were his brothers and he wanted us to remember him as he was, as we did. When he told my mother that he couldn\'t do the e-mail anymore I stopped. I knew that I would eventually get this notice but chose to pray and hope that the day wouldn\'t come. Today I have a hole in my heart. God bless you Bob and your family. Love and friendship,
Bob "Rupert" Edwards

Bob was in my homegroup for a while. He and I talked a lot about my teenage boys then 15 and 18. I lost my oldest son just a few months ago and know that there is really nothing I can say to ease your pain. I do know that I take comfort in the fact that Will and Bob are both in heaven and someday I will get an opportunity to be with them again. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers as you go through this time. Love in Christ, Rose

For many years Bob was one of my favorite clients and I always looked forward to our meetings and telephone conversations. Usually we talked about half business and half guns and hunting, and it was always fun. He struck me as someone who gave his all to the project at hand and did his very best to get the most out of life. I admired Bob\'s courage to be unconventional, take risks and follow his own dreams. We did not talk about spiritual matters until Bob was diagnosed with cancer. Then, I was glad to learn that he had put his trust in the Lord, and I have prayed for Bob and his loved ones often through his illness. I also noticed that he was focussed on the important things in life - family, friends, and faith. I miss my friend Bob and my life has been made much richer through knowing him.

I met Bob when I first began clay target shooting in 1978. We became friends instantly. He had been transfered by Remington to Southern Calif. as their factory rep. As he was alone, he was invited and came over for dinner 2 to 3 time each week while he was getting settled in. His friendship changed my life as he encouraged me to try competion clay target shooting. The two of us also went to Wyoming to hunt big game twice. By this time Remington realized what a super person they had working for them and promoted him to higher and higher positions. We have kept in touch for all these years. He has made me a better man just to know him. My deepest sympathies to his family.
