Funeral services for Mrs. Katherine Emeneker Hendrix will be held on Friday, December 5, 2008 at 3pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Dean Nunn, Ricky Greene, Vic Emeneker, Adam Davis, Ronnie Emeneker, Todd Emeneker, Danny Minolfo, and Eddie Hunt. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until the hour of service at the funeral home Memorial contributions may be directed to Regency Hospice, 105 Summerwood Way, Suite D, Aiken, SC, 29803. Mrs. Hendrix, 87, of Aiken, died Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A lifelong resident of Aiken County, she was the daughter of the late Hugo and Pearl Harmon Emeneker, Sr. She was retired bookkeeper from A&P Grocery Store. She was a past member of the Savannah River Beagle Club. Katherine loved to cook, work jumbo word puzzles, taking care of her family, watching court and soap operas. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Hastings Haye Hendrix, brothers, Hugo Emeneker, Jr., James Emeneker, Bobby Emeneker, sister, Myrtle Ford. She is survived by her son, Gene Nancy Hendrix, Aiken; sisters, Florence Busbee, Louise Widener, both of Aiken; grandchildren, Chris Tina Hendrix, Michael Lynn Hendrix, great grandchildren, Jason Hendrix, Jennifer Hendrix, step great grandchildren, Sherry Rich, Samantha Johnson, Shannon Johnson, seven step great great grandchildren, beloved niece, Vickie Adam Davis and her children, Caroline Davis, and Collin Davis. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
