Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" H. Goldman will be held at 4pm on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken with Rev. Caleb Coffin officiating. Pallbearers will be: Robbie Goldman, Jeffary Goldman, Raymond Wood, Scott Saul, Russell Barton & Sam Barton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bailey Goldman, Tyler Saul and Matthew Saul. Interment will follow at Aiken Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday evening from 6-8pm at the funeral home. The family will also be receiving friends at the residence of Dorothy Wood. Memorial donations may be directed to the Aiken Area Council on Aging, PO Box 3156, Aiken, SC 29802. Mts. Goldman, 87, of Aiken, died Saturday, October 6, 2007 at her residence. A daughter of the late Patrick and Sarah Jenning Harrington, she was born in Fall River, MA and had lived in Aiken for over sixty years. From the mid 1960?s through the 1980?s, she had owned and operated Goldman?s Grocery in Aiken. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a life member and former commander of DAV Chapter 43, Aiken. She was a caregiver for many family, friends and neighbors and also volunteered at the former Aiken Nursing Home and at the Linwood Hospital in Augusta. In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband; Claude C. Goldman, Jr, a daughter; Kathryn Aureen Goldman and a son; Claude Patrick Goldman. She is survived by a son; Bobby Goldman, Monetta, a daughter; Dorothy Wood, Aiken and a brother; Joseph Harrington, Fall River, MA. She is also survived by four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a special caregiver; Donna Barton, her telephone friends, doctors, caregivers and the staff at Medical Center Pharmacy.
