Mrs. Helen F. Thompson, 68, of Aiken, died Monday, September 28, 2009 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers, Aiken. Born in Neptune, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Edwin and Alice Webb Murdoch, II. She lived in Wall Township, NJ, West Palm Beach, Fl, before moving to Aiken in 2005. She attended Brookdale University, Monmouth University and graduated from the Ann May School of Nursing with a bachelor's degree in Nursing. Helen worked for over years as a Registered Nurse at the Jersey Shore Medical Center. Helen was a devoted member of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Cross. While at the church she was the chairperson of the Alter Guild. She originated the Parish Care Givers of the Holy Cross of the Sick and Dying, she cared for more than a hundred parishioners. Helen designed and developed the costumes for the Dance Ministry, Majesty. She was on the Scholarship Committee, Christian Clown Ministry, and was on the Property Committee. Helen Attended the Lutheran Synod in Tampa, FL Helen loved to travel in her motor home with her husband. She was a member of the Family Motor Coach Association, and the Good Sam Club. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, James Murdoch. She is survived by her devoted husband, John A. Thompson, Jr., beloved son, Robert Shamu, Carlisle, PA; daughter, Patricia Shamu Fey and her husband Gerald of NJ; brothers, Peter Murdoch, Edwin Murdoch, III, sister in laws, Dorothy Murdoch, Karen Murdoch, three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to, Debbie and James Wipple, Evelyn Middleton, Rosemary Casper, all the members of the Lutheran Church of the Holy Cross, especially, Rev. Dr. Michael Breznen, her spiritual minister, Deacon Dianne Breznen, and Deacon Robert Frieberg. Memorial services for Mrs. Helen F.
