Obituary of Jacqueline Sarah Jennings

Please share a memory of Jacqueline to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Jacqueline Sarah (Lake) Jennings was born, raised and lived her whole life in the St. Louis, Missouri area. She lived at the same address in Glendale for over 62 years. Her parents are Harry E. and Lottie Bell Lake. She and her sister Josephine Lake Engle lived near each other all their lives until 2009 when Mom became a resident of Harbor Chase Assisted Living, in Aiken. During which time, Jeannie Heard, her daughter, served as her primary care taker. Jacqueline S. Jennings, 92, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2016. She was a wife for 30 years to Robert Samuel Jennings and mother to Jacqueline Boyer, Melany Jean Heard, Robert Jerome Jennings and one step-daughter, Sandra Sue Roth. Mom was a member of Webster Hills Methodist Church for over 50 years. Most of her many activities included those centered around the church. She also enjoyed being a member of the Webster Hills Women's Group and the Glendale Women's Club. Mom's love of animals lead to her being a lifelong contributor to the Humane Society and an avid fan of any animal, especially her dogs. Mom also really enjoyed fishing, boating, swimming, camping, traveling and exercising. Mom traveled most of the United States with Robert and after his passing she completed her travels of the U.S. and became a world traveler, visiting Canada, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Russia, China, the Bahamas, Panama Canal and she even sailed around Cape Horn. Mom has and is dearly loved by her children, sister and extended family, which now includes: 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. In addition she also has 1 nephew and 3 nieces and several great nieces and nephews. Even though Mom will be sorely missed by all her family we are here to celebrate her arrival at the Kingdom of God where she has been welcomed into the arms of her dear Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ. In this we find wonderful hope? In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to FOTAS (Friends of the Animal Shelter) P.O. Box, 2207, Aiken, SC 29802.
