Funeral services for Frank E. ''Buddy'' Herndon, Sr. are private and under the direction of George Funeral Homes Historic Downtown Chapel 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken, SC. Mr. Herndon, 69, of Aiken, died Saturday March 23, 2002 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A son of the late Caleb M. Sr. and Rosa Daly Herndon, he was born in Augusta, GA and had lived in Aiken since he was fourteen years old. He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a communicant of St. Mary Help of Christians Church. Before retiring in 1994, he and his brother Caleb M., Jr., owned and operated Herndon Dairy Farm in Aiken. Besides his parents, Mr. Herndon is pre-deceased by his son, Frank E. Herndon, Jr. who died in 1993. Surviving are his wife, Cherieann Wimberly Herndon; two daughters, Kathy Monahon and Nancy Corley, both of Aiken; his brother, Caleb M. Herndon, Jr., Aiken; a sister, Barbara Rucker, North Augusta and seven grandchildren; Joanna Monahon Droege, Austin, TX, Matt Monahon, Macon, GA, Dan Monahon, North Augusta, Nicholas and Brandon Herndon, Harrisville, New Hampshire and James & John Corley, Aiken.
