Mary and her husband Tom were two of the first people Alicia and I met when we moved to Aiken in 1999 and we were honored to be considered part of their family. I have to think long and hard to come up with someone who was as kind, down to earth and understanding as Mary was. I only recently had the honor of meeting her while I was visiting Chas in Aiken. The minute I walked through her door I felt at home and welcomed. She looked you in the eye and really listened when you was talking regardless of how ill she was. She filled my belly and my heart and I'm so glad I got to meet this wonderful woman before I had to leave. What strength it must have taken to cross over. What beauty! :heart:
