Mr. Jimmie Andrew Orander, beloved husband of the late Patricia Collins Orander went to be with the Lord on February 6, 2008. He was born in Blythe, GA. to the late James Boaz and Lena Weatherford Orander. He was a 1951 graduate of Hephzibah High School. He formally lived in Montmorenci, SC before moving to Eden Gardens. He retired from the Aiken Post Office as a Letter Carrier in 1987. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Edward Orander, Janet Mitchem, Callie Newman, and Bernard Orander. Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-laws, Andy Susie Orander of Colorado Springs, CO; Kevin Mary Orander of Montmorenci, SC and daughters and son-in-laws Gwen Ray Jackson of Aiken, SC and Beth George Joyner of Beech Island, SC. Brother Judson Orander of Augusta, GA, and Sisters Roberta Lamar Powel of Evans, GA. and Mary Walden of Augusta, GA. 12 Grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of South Carolina, 946 Millbrook Avenue Suite A, Aiken SC 29803. Family will receive friends Friday, February 8, 2008 at George Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at 2pm at Aiken Memorial Gardens with Rev. Michael Dann officiating. Pallbearers will be the grandsons.
