Obituary of Kathleen DeWilder Biel

Kathleen DeWilder Biel, 70, beloved wife of Edward Michael Biel, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, at Aiken Regional Medical Center following a short illness.

Mrs. Biel was born on November 21, 1953, in Battle Creek, MI, a daughter of the late Arthur & Mildred Kolvoord DeWilder.  Kathleen was a retired Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She and her husband Mike lived in Naperville, IL for many years where she was a member of the River Glen Presbyterian Church. She and her husband moved to Aiken in 2019 and made Woodside Community their home. She was very active in the Woodside Community. She loved playing cards every Friday with the Women’s Card Group. She was also a member of the Niner’s Ladies Golf League. Most of all, she was a devoted wife of 48 years to her husband Mike, a beloved mother and a cherished friend who will be missed immensely.

Surviving in addition to her husband are a daughter, Andrea Biel of Denver, CO and a brother and sister-in-law, Jim & Louise DeWilder of Sea Ranch, CA.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, February 24 from 1:00pm until 3:00p.m. at the Woodside County Club, 1000 Woodside Plantation Drive, Aiken, SC 29803.
