Obituary of Dr. Gary Lawrence Shepard
AIKEN, SC – Dr. Gary Lawrence Shepard, age 69, died September 13, 2023. He is preceded in death by his parents, Herbert & Gloria Shepard; a daughter, Rebecca Niedziela; as his wife, Wanda Key Shepard. He is survived by his daughter, Allie Shepard; two grandchildren, Becky & Sebastian Niedziela; a brother, Scott Shepard; two stepchildren, Brandon & Justin Smith; and two step-grandchildren, Madison & Collin Smith.
Gary was a retired optometrist having owned and operated his own practice in Aiken for many years. He was an avid musician, having performed in many community performances and local rock bands.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 15, 2023, in The George Funeral Chapel.
