Obituary of Louise Cornelia Pou Kitchings

Louise Cornelia Pou Kitchings, 89, of Aiken, SC entered into rest on Sunday, September 3,2023 surrounded by family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Carrie Pou, two sisters, Margie Pou, Jean Eubanks, brother Charles Pou and husband Harold P. Kitchings.

She was born in Wagener, SC on July 20,1934, but has been a lifetime resident of Aiken County. She was of the Baptist Faith. She was a former textile worker for Graniteville Company. She loved the great outdoors, hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Survivors include, four daughters Mrs. Rebecca Rowe (Sid) Aiken, SC, Linda Stone (Raymond) Aiken, SC, Rhonda Herron (Mark) Aiken, SC, Betty Stone (Johnny) Aiken, SC. In addition to her children, she is survived by 2 sisters, Molly Rhoden, North Augusta, SC, Dorothy Thomas (Glenn) Aiken, SC, 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 17 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Tuesday, September 5, 2023, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Historic George Funeral Home Downtown, Aiken, SC. 

Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Aiken Memorial Gardens, Aiken, SC. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Mark Rowe, Brantley Boyd, Harold Boyd, George "Rocky" Stone, Bryson Herron, John Stone Jr., Honorary Pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, Tyler Rowe, Victor Kitchings, Hector Kitchings, and Mark Ables.

Special thanks to Pepper Hill Nursing Home Palmetto Wing workers and Cresent Hospice for being with us in her final days.

The family asks in lieu of flowers to make a donation to the Alzheimer Association or one's favorite charity.
