Funeral Services for Mr. Arnold Lee Burke will take place on Sunday, February 17, 2008 at 1:30pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave. SW Aiken with Rev. Mike Chandler officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be directed to Millbrook Baptist Church 176 E. Pinelog Rd. Aiken, SC 29803. Mr. Burke, 86, of Aiken, died Thursday, February 14, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. A son of the late Lonnie Lee and Lula Mae McGlohorn Burke, he was born in Millen, GA where he lived before moving to Aiken 47 years ago. He retired as an Electronics Engineer forWestinghouse/Dupont at the Savannah River Site after spending 47 years with the company. During his career, Mr. Burke served with the National Board of Weights and Measures. Mr. Burke was a veteran of the US Navy and a member of Millbrook Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister and his wife, Louise P. Burke who died in October 2007. Mr. Burke is survived by his son; Bobby Burke and his wife, Martha, Aiken, two daughters; Connie Sharpe and her husband, John Rood, Orlando, FL and Pat Creed and her husband Steve, Myrtle Beach, SC, a half-brother; Earl Burke, Millen, GA. He is also survived by five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
