Funeral services for Mrs. Betty J. Waters will be held at 2pm on Friday, May 30, 2008 at Millbrook Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Eddie Leopard officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8pm at George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave, SW, Aiken. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC, 29210 or the Lydia Project, 1321 Arsenal Ave, Augusta, GA 30904. Mrs. Waters, 73, of Aiken, died Monday, May 26, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born in Lake City, TN, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Beulah Armstrong Johnson. She moved to Aiken in 1952 from Lake City, TN. She was a member of Millbrook Baptist Church and retired from Savannah River Laboratory as a lab technician with over forty years of service. She loved to watch golf, the Atlanta Braves and spending time on the river. Her most precious moments were spent with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Philemon Waters, brothers, Norman Johnson, and Bob Johnson. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Todd Bornscheuer, Aiken; sons, Phil Kim Waters, Beaufort, SC; Jonathan Waters, Aiken; sister, Gerry Miller, grandchildren, Lauren Waters, Emily Waters, Anna Grace Waters, Matthew Bornscheuer, and Luke Bornscheuer.
