Funeral services for Mr. Norman Sidney "NS" Johnson, Jr. will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at 2pm at North Aiken Church of God with Pastor R. Scott Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Aiken Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Monty Murell, Michael Baynham, Nick Hotto, Roger Pennington, Danny Fincher, Shane Hall. Honorary pallbearer will be Alvin Holsenback. The family will receive friends tonight from 6-8pm at North Aiken Church of God. George Funeral Home & Cremation Center is assisting the family. Memorial contributions may be directed to North Aiken Church of God, PO Box 951, Aiken, SC, 29802. Mr. Johnson, 82, of Aiken, died Sunday, May 11, 2008 at Aiken Regional Medical Centers. Born and raised in Aiken, he was the son of the late Norman Sidney and Sallie Bell Baker Johnson, Sr. He was a member of Rocky Springs Baptist Church, and the Masonic Lodge of Johnston, SC. He retired after thirty years of service as a foreman from the South Eastern Clay Co. and proudly served his country in the Army, during World War II. He liked to fish and hunt. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Virginia Jackson Johnson, sisters, Florene Pitts, Lois Files. He is survived by his son, Lenwood "Sam" Johnson and his wife Mariam, sister, Elouise Perkins.
