The staff at Trinity will deeply miss Melba --- she was a delightful resident, enjoyed by the staff and other residents. We could always count on Melba to keep us informed about what was going on in the world --- she will be deeply missed. We are grateful that we had the chance to know her.

I remember my grandmother just as as everyone else. She was a lady with classic style and beauty. She always took such care in her appearance. My memories of her include staying at her house across the street from the horses, the bells on the backdoor and her teaching me how to needlepoint as a child. She loved to tell stories about her family. In her later years, her mind was still as sharp as a tack. She loved to read and kept up with current events. Thank you all for sharing your memories too.

My wife Cathy and I share in your grief. We wish we could be with you in this time of sorrow. You will all be in our prayers. I knew Aunt Melba much better as a child than as an adult. We should really know this whole side of the family much more than we do. Spending so much time chasing the almighty dollar I loose track of whats really important in life. The Beatles where right and said it best"All you need is Love".
In the end the love you get is equall to the love you give. It\'s all we can offer each other and thats all that should count. I\'d sure like to share our memories and our parents memories with all of you so lets try and stay in touch.
Godspeed to the rest of your journey Aunt Melba, we will keep you in our hearts until we meet again.

My Dearest Aunt Melba you shall be missed. Most of my memories are of a young child seeing a beautiful women with long black hair all the way down her back. I remember a soft voice with a southern accent telling stories of a young boy\'s mischief my dad, and a smile so wide it filled a room, and the times we would meet during vacations by the ocean. I shall miss you Aunt Melba. I know the angels came and took you to heaven and Uncle Payton, Grandma and Grandpa were there waiting for you.
Love always,
Patti

I have been very fortunate to visit with Great Aunt Melba on several different occasions. A particular visit I remember quite vividly is spending an enjoyable week with her at her home in Aiken. My grandfather and I had stopped there during our travels through the south-eastern part of the country in the summer of \'91. What most comes to mind are the interesting conversations her and I had that helped me become so aquainted with my Grandfather\'s part of the family. Thank you Great Aunt Melba, you will forever be etched in my memories as well as my heart.

Dear Melba, I know you are at peace now but I have lost a special person. During the past two years we became good friends. You loved to talk about politics, current events, and read more books than I would have thought possible. Your charm and wit made you a joy to know. I will miss you.

Aunt Melba\'s passing reminds me to hold precious the fleeting moments in time that the good Lord allows us to share with our loved ones and family. I remember visiting Aunt Melba years ago during summer vacations when Mom and Dad would pack all of us kids into the station wagon and off we\'d go to tour the South. I was very young at the time, but I do have pleasant memories of Aunt Melba and her uniquely southern accent, which sparked my interest all those years ago. Aunt Melba was loved and will be missed by all of us. The good Lord has chosen this time to call her home. May you rest in peace Aunt Melba.
Love,
Jamie

Playing on the ocean, fishing, tinkering with inventions are some of the things I enjoy most today, my earliest memories of this include Aunt Melba and Uncle Peyton.
When I walk the beach or drop a line, happy times are relived and the memories assure me that live is good.
Aunt Melba, there are no more hurricanes, the season has passed, I know you are secure in the Sunshine now.
Thank you for the light you left shinning in my heart.
Love Matthew

Melba Watson is my oldest sister. I am her only brother. I must have visited her at least once and more often twice each year she lived in Aiken for the past 28 years since her husband Peyton W. Watson passed away in mid 1974. Melba was a strong person in looking after both her parents during their last years of life in Macon, Georgia. God will remember how she left her home in Aiken in 1974 right after her husband passed before she finished mourning for her husband, and she went to Macon to simply live with her parents for the passing of our father, and for about 6 years up until the passing of our Mother in 1980. Her husband, Peyton, was one of the early Presidents of the Aiken Shrine Club. I would be in Aiken for Melba\'s funeral except tthat I am under doctor orders to enter the hospital tomorow, December 17, 2002, for heart angioplasty, and this combined with my coumadin intake will require me to be hospitalized for at least a week during this important and critical procedure. My aunt Melba was a beautiful lady with georgeous amber eyes. My youngest daughter, Sarah, who is also dark and beautiful reminds me a lot of my aunt. I will miss Aunt Melba a lot. My mother, Frances, is Aunt Melba\'s little sister. She is very sad tonight, as are we all.
