It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Frederick Brian Cavanaugh, a beloved resident of Aiken, SC. Born in Augusta, Georgia, on March 26, 1982, Brian passed away unexpectedly on October 14, 2024, at the age of 42.

Frederick is survived by his mother, Lee Quinn Cavanaugh of Aiken, and his brother, Alexander "Alex" Murray Cavanaugh, also of Aiken. In addition to his mother and brother, Brian is also survived by three aunts and an uncle,  Mary Anne Cavanaugh of Aiken, Judy Cavanaugh of Charleston, and Latisha Cavanaugh (Larry Wayne) Hudson of Aiken; and his extended family of cousins, Molly Herlong Caldwell, William Howard "Trey" Howard, Eric Herlong, Julee Hendrix, Laura Mitchell, Ryan Hudson, Brooke Hasty, and Heather Hudson.

Preceding him in death was his father, The Honorable Frederick Bates Cavanaugh. 

Frederick pursued a career in real estate as a dedicated Realtor, serving his community with Carolina Real Estate Company in Aiken for the past eight years. While growing up, Brian he was passionate about sports, having played basketball at St. Mary Help of Christians Catholic School. He also enjoyed a good golf game with friends. He was a member of Mercy Church in Aiken. 

Those who knew Frederick will remember his warm smile, his loving nature, and his eager willingness to help others. His compassion extended beyond people, evident in his support of the SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare, where donations in his memory may be made at 199 Willow Run Drive, Aiken, SC 29801.

Frederick's life will be honored and celebrated with services entrusted to the care of The Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center,211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649-6234.

The world is a little dimmer without Brian, but his shining spirit will continue to illuminate the hearts of all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy of love, generosity, and kindness that will be cherished forever.
