Obituary of Sally Ann Clayton

     Sally Ann Clayton, 89, of Aiken, SC passed away Friday, April 1, 2022 at University Hospital in Augusta following an extended illness.

     Born in Lake Milton, Ohio on March 4, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Lester Elmer & Letitia Ann Crum Creed. She was a resident of Aiken, SC since 1977 and owned and operated Clayton Muffler in Aiken for many years. She had previously worked for SRS for 9 years and was a member of First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She was active in voter registration in Ohio and Aiken County, the Aiken City Senior Citizen’s Work Program, Helping Hands, The VFW Auxiliary and the DVA.

     Survivors include 3 daughters, JoAnna L. Hunsucker (James) of Cumming, GA, Linda L. Louer of Mattoon, IL & Andrea C. Horton (Timothy) of North Augusta, SC; a sister, Nancy Thomas of North Port, FL; 8 grandchildren, James G. Hunsucker, Jonathan T. Hunsucker, Deanna L. Louer, Julia R. Louer, George C. Louer, Bridgette M. Louer, Jessica N. Horton, and Amanda D. Horton.

     In addition to her parents, Mrs. Clayton was pre-deceased by her daughter, Claudia D. Clayton and brothers, Dale Creed and William Creed.

     Graveside services will be conducted on Monday, April 4, 2022 at 1:00p.m. at South Lawn Cemetery with Pastor Irene Albritton officiating.

     The family would like to especially thank Caroline Hale for the many, many years of loving support she gave Sally.
