Obituary of David Michael Ferriter
MOORE, SC – David Michael Ferriter passed from this life to his Heavenly home Monday, January 17, 2022.
Born in Rahway, NJ on August 31, 1946, to the late Paul T and Kathryn M Ferriter. From the age of six, he grew up in Aiken, SC. He attended USC-Aiken and was a lifelong South Carolina Gamecock fan. Dave was outgoing, active, and family-oriented. He worked hard and loved his family well. An avid golfer and member at Three Pines Country Club, he had five career holes-in-one. He loved the annual family trips to Edisto Beach. He had a merriment to his spirit and made it his mission to try and make others happy. He loved his faithful four-legged companions and adored his wife more than anything.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Ferriter Hass, Judy Ferriter Davis, brother Tom Ferriter, infant son,Kevin and stepdaughter Keri Martin Bunch.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Kathy and brothers Dick Ferriter (Mary Jo) of Columbia and Mark Ferriter (Sally) of Aiken. His daughter Michelle Ferriter Martin (Anthony) of Abbeville, SC; stepchildren Kim Bouchillon Vinson (Erik) of Supply, NC; Danny Martin (Stephanie) of Salem, MA; Brad Martin (Jena) of Columbia, SC; John Martin of Hot Springs, NC; grandchildren , Reece (Karlie), Alex, Shawn, Katelin, Josie, Jake, Savannah, Sophie, Jasmine, Joshua, Jacob, Bryce, Addison, Dakota, Deglan, Ansley, Gracie, Chloe, and Jackson. 2 great grandchildren, Brennen and Finley.
The family will receive friends at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 22, 2022, at George Funeral Home, Aiken SC, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Pastor Darrel Fetzer will officiate. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers, David Davis, Jason Davis, Adam Davis, Michael Davis, Brad Martin, Jacob Martin, John Martin, Tim Hass, Leland Ferriter, Anthony Martin , Erik Vinson and Joshua Vinson.
Memorial contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation to the folks at Mary Black Hospital for their kindness and care for Dave during the past weeks.
