Growing up, my favorite days were always our "special days" with GG. She would always make it a point when she visited to take a day with each grandchild, and that day was always completely dedicated to us and what we wanted to do. It was so important to GG to get to spend time with each grand child individually so that we each felt special and important. I am so thankful to have been able to watch my daughter Sabrina get to have that same special bond with GG that I did. GG was always so proud of her grandchildren and her great-grands, and the first question she always asked on the phone was "How's Sabrina?!" We will all miss our GG so much.

Growing up, I was a bit of a black sheep and GG knew that. But she embraced me, and she encouraged me to be myself. She always loved my art. Whether it was my mediocre guitar playing, or creating my own t-shirts, she loved what I was passionate about. That has always given me the strength, courage and confidence to follow what I love and be who I am.

I don't know how to begin to express the love and gratitude I have for GG. She always treated me more like a daughter than a daughter-in-law, and she truly felt more like my second Mom than my mother-in-law. We could chat for hours and it was always comfortable and natural. We laughed together and cried together. I will miss her more than words can express, but take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her beloved "Bugs." Thank you both for raising your amazing son to be such a good and caring man. I Love You!

One of my favorite things about GG was her curiosity and willingness to try new things. She asked about everything – what kind of snack I was having, what I put in my coffee in the morning, what kind of makeup I was using, where I got the shirt I was wearing, what was happening at work...everything! And if I offered any of what I had for GG to try, I was nearly always met with an enthusiastic “sure I will!” She wanted to be involved in whatever was happening and wasn’t afraid to try something new. Whether GG asked me about those things because she was showing an interest in the things themselves or an interest in me, I’ll never know for sure. But that was GG’s way – when you spent time with her, you always felt like the most special person in the room.

Mary Lou may have been small in stature but she was certainly big in spirit. I enjoyed my talks with her (too few) and her funny stories ("What happened to my feet?"). She always made me feel like part of the family even though I was just the sister of her daughter in law. Rest in peace, GG.

I’m sorry we never made it on our trip, but I will forever miss the stories of your travels , Trying to alter the clothes to fit your frame , the huge lunches, but most of all just little ole “You”. Thank you for helping me de-stress ( take a nap lol). I have been very blessed to have you and your family join my family ..... and I also agree we have the “best grandchildren “. Till we see you again ... love you forever and a day ❤️

Aunt Mary, full of life and adventure; kindness, loving mother; wife, sister daughter; grandmother. I have the best memories of time spent with her growing up. My mother told me Aunt Mary was the most welcoming person when she first came to this country to visit and marry George; Aunt Mary's older brother. She will be missed and remembered forever. Love you Aunt Mary!!
