Obituary of Willie Eugene Thomas

    Willie Eugene Thomas, 89, of Piper Road, Aiken, fell into the gentle sleep of death on Thanksgiving morning, November 25, 2021 and awoke to spend his first Thanksgiving in Heaven with his precious son Mark and his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

     Born in Johnston, SC on September 5, 1932, he was the son of the late Willie P & Willa Fulmer Thomas. Willie was the retired owner and operator of Thomas Auto Sales for over 50 years. He proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the National Guard. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and having cookouts with his family and friends. For many years he and his wife Jean were a member of the H.N. Willing Pond Group. Willie was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and the Early Bird Men’s Sunday School Class. But his greatest treasure in life was spending time with his precious wife of 68 years, Jean along with their children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. 

     Surviving include his wife Jean Fulmer Thomas; 2 daughters and son-in-laws, Teresa (Richard) Zimmerman of Aiken and Joan (Dennis) White of Spartanburg; grandchildren, Phillip (Gennie) Morris, Nicole (David) Dubose, Tiffany Thomas & Cameron (Jackie) Thomas; great grandchildren, Amber Eubanks, Austin Richardson, Alayna Krueger, Dylan Dubose, Colby Dubose, Alayah Thomas, Bryson Thomas & Aiden Morris; great-great grandchildren, Easton, Braelynn, Riverlynn, Releigh, Brantley, Brooks & Blair; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

     In addition to his parents and son, Willie was pre-deceased by a sister, Grace Holsomback.

     Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday afternoon, November 28, 2021 at 4:00p.m. in the family life center at Shiloh Baptist Church with Dr. Chris Masters and Rev. K. Scott Ayers officiating. A sunset interment will follow in the church cemetery. 

     The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. until 6:30p.m. Saturday evening at the Historic George Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 211 Park Ave SW, Aiken, SC 29801 (803) 649.6234.

      Pallbearers will be Phillip Morris, Dylan Dubose, Colby Dubose, Aiden Morris, Cameron Thomas, Austin Richardson and Bryson Thomas.
