Obituary of David Stephen Scott

David Stephen (PC) Scott, 40, of Aiken, SC, passed away August 22, 2021 in Augusta, GA after a brief illness. Due to the current pandemic, a celebration of David’s life will be announced at a future time.

David was born May 14, 1981 in Tupelo, MS. He moved to Aiken with his family in 1988. He graduated from Augusta Christian School in 2000 and then attended Aiken Technical College. He worked for many years in the Restaurant/Hospitality industry in downtown Aiken. David loved people and loved all the many friends he made during that time.

David is survived by his parents, Paul and Carol Scott of Aiken, SC; a brother, Mathew Scott (Sarah) of Aiken; sister, Erin Scott Herron (TJ) of Aiken; a niece, Mary Alex Scott; and nephews, Carter Scott, Benjamin Herron, Wesley Herron, Mathew Scott Jr., Eli Scott, Samuel Scott, Jack Campbell and Thomas Campbell. He also leaves behind the many friends who brought so much happiness to his life. He loved them dearly. He also leaves behind his trusted companion and faithful bulldog, Gus.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 104 Newberry Street NW. The family requests that attendees wear masks and observe social distancing protocols.

A celebration of life gathering and potluck will also be held on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. at the Tailgate Tavern, 231 The Alley SW. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Samaritan’s Purse.

The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Augusta University Hospital and especially the staff in ER2 for their compassionate and professional care, and also to the Aiken County EMS and Public Safety.
